5 Resources You Need During Every Stage of Pregnancy

prenatal pregnant mom

Moms, we know how easy it is to get overwhelmed when trying to sort through the infinite number of resources, checklists and Instagram posts of prenatal and birth education. This is why we did the work for you to find easy to follow, accessible and most importantly quality information on everything you want to know during every stage of pregnancy. This includes preparing your body for birth, nutrition, tools to advocate for yourself/your birth plan, prenatal & postpartum exercise and everything in between. All of these resources provide you immediately implementable things you can use to help you have the pregnancy and postpartum period YOU want.

Built To Birth Courses - Birth & Postpartum Education

Bridget Teyler is an amazing doula who offers both birth and postpartum courses that are self-paced and accessible anywhere. These childbirth education courses really prepare moms-to-be how to physically, mentally and emotionally prepare and advocate for themselves during pregnancy and birth and how to recover after childbirth.

What we love about the Built To Birth courses is that they are in depth – what does birth look like, what does it mean to be in labor, what is the body doing at each stage? She covers all of this along with included workbooks, meditations/affirmations and nutrition advice. Check out the Built To Birth courses here.

“Real Food for Pregnancy” by Lily Nichols - Nutrition During Pregnancy and Beyond

This book is regarded as one of the prenatal nutrition resources. Lily Nichols is a registered dietician/nutritionist as well as a diabetes educator. This book (and her “Real Food for Gestational Diabetes”) is really easy to follow and is chock-full of up to date research on how to optimize prenatal nutrition.

The fact that Lily includes evidence-based information and sample meal plans in a very ‘digestible’ way for everyone is why we recommend this book. Check out “Real Food For Pregnancy” here.

BIRTHFIT Programs - Safe Exercise for the Preconception, Prenatal and Postpartum Periods

So many pregnant moms tell us they are active but once they become pregnant they don’t know how to most effectively exercise. What’s more, during their postpartum period, they don’t know where to begin to safely return to exercising while they are recovering. And some moms-to-be know movement will help them have a more comfortable and enjoyable pregnancy but are not in the habit of exercising.

This is why BIRTHFIT is so great - it has an online community and online classes catered to moms-to-be and new moms who just simply want to move better during birth, be better prepared for birth and better recover after birth. Check out BIRTHFIT’s community and classes here.

Evidence Based Birth - Empowering Evidence on Making Informed Decisions For your Pregnancy

Evidence Based Birth dissects current research on a whole host of things including due dates, interventions, and fetal monitoring. Their aim is to empower parents in making informed choices when it comes to pregnancy, postpartum and everything between.

What makes EBB and its information great for parents-to-be is they have an in depth podcast and blog. So if you don’t have time to sit down to deep dive into a blog you can plug in and listen to the information on the go.  Check out Evidence Based Birth here.
