Office Policies and Behavioral Expectations

This policy aims to establish clear behavioral expectations for patients and their dependents in our chiropractic office to ensure a safe, respectful, and calming environment for all patients, especially those who are pregnant or seeking care for their children.

1. Behavioral Expectations for Children

Respect for Others: Children are expected to behave in a manner that is respectful to other patients, staff, office animals and the office environment. Running, yelling, and disruptive behavior are not permitted.

Safety First: For the safety of everyone, children must not engage in activities that could cause harm to themselves or others, such as climbing on furniture or playing with office equipment.

Cleanliness: Children should keep their play area tidy, putting toys and books back in their designated places after use.

2. Parental Responsibilities

Supervision: Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. If the parent is receiving treatment, an alternative caregiver must be present to supervise the child.

Behavior Management: Parents are expected to manage and correct their child's behavior as needed to ensure it aligns with the office’s behavioral expectations.

Engagement: Parents may bring quiet, engaging activities for their children to occupy them during visits (e.g., books, coloring materials)

3. Supervision and Safety

Staff Role: Office staff are not responsible for supervising children. However, staff will assist in maintaining a safe environment by gently reminding parents of their responsibilities if needed.

Safety Measures: The children's area will be regularly inspected for safety hazards, and toys will be cleaned and sanitized frequently.

4. Enforcement and Consequences

If a child’s behavior becomes disruptive, staff will first remind the parent or guardian of the behavioral expectations. If the disruptive behavior continues, staff may ask the parent to manage their child’s behavior more actively or step outside with the child until they calm down.

For ongoing issues, a discussion with the parent or guardian may be scheduled to find a more effective solution, which may include suggesting alternative care arrangements.

If disruptive behavior jeopardizes the safety of the child, office staff, office animals or another patient the office will release patient from care immediately.

5. Compliance

Our chiropractic office is committed to providing a supportive and serene environment for all our patients, including children and pregnant women. By adhering to these behavioral guidelines, we can ensure a pleasant experience for everyone and maintain the highest standards of care.

By attending appointments at our office, parents and guardians agree to adhere to these policies and work collaboratively with our staff to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

6. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Care

Our office reserves the right to not initiate or to discontinue care at any time, for any reason, if we determine that it is in the best interest of the patient, staff, or overall office environment. In such instances, we will provide recommendations for alternative chiropractic offices or healthcare providers who may be able to assist you further. This policy ensures that we can continue to provide a safe, respectful, and healing space for all of our patients.
