Dr. Rachel Wong-Homer

Prenatal Chiropractor

In Dr. Rachel’s fifth grade yearbook quote she said, “In the future, I would like to be a pediatrician and help other people.” She knew early on that she enjoyed helping others (kiddos especially) in their health journey, but it would be some time until she truly found her passion and calling in life.

Her Journey to Chiropractic

From the time between 5th grade and her undergraduate years, Dr. Rachel would discover other academic interests that would result in a slight detour to her eventually becoming a chiropractor. She ended up getting her degree in economics and accounting at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Rachel likes to joke that she also majored in Ultimate Frisbee while at UCSD due to the countless hours spent at practice and tournaments over her four years in school. It was certainly time well spent though as it was on the field that she met Dr. Nicole who became her life partner. After UCSD, Dr. Rachel worked as an accountant and auditor both in the public and private sector. It was not long before her body began feeling all the effects of her countless hours sitting at a desk.

Wanting to maintain her active lifestyle, she landed in the office of a chiropractor at her friend’s recommendation. It was in this office that she experienced amazing positive health changes that had nothing to do with her aches and pains! She also witnessed incredible health benefits in her friends under chiropractic care. After this, Dr. Rachel knew chiropractic was how she wanted to help others and her 5th grader dreams of becoming a doctor were set in motion.

Finding Her Calling

Dr. Rachel attended Life Chiropractic College West and graduated as salutatorian of her class along with earning clinical honors. During her time in the clinic, she rediscovered her passion for working with kiddos. Some of her very first patients were an 8-month old as well as a pregnant momma. She knew this was the population she was called to serve. Dr. Rachel knew she had to find her way back to San Diego and was fortunate enough to be able to complete her clinical residency in a pediatrics and pregnancy specialized practice serving many San Diego families. In order to provide the highest level of care, Dr. Rachel has completed additional training in pediatrics and pregnancy through the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association and is certified in the Webster Technique. Additionally, she is a Pediatric Experience doctor, committed to Pediatric, Perinatal and Family neurologically-focused chiropractic care.

Outside of the Office

Dr. Rachel loves teaching the future chiropractors of tomorrow which is why she is an adjunct professor at Life Chiropractic College West and also helps students pass their board exams the first time with Chiro AlignEd Learning, which she started with Dr. Nicole. When she’s not with patients, Dr. Rachel can be found spending time with Dr. Nicole and their pup, Mia. Much of her spare time is spent at local coffee shops, the latest trending restaurant, at the dog beach or on the disc golf course!
